The Russian Assistant Minister of Health, Alexei Kuznetsov, considered that the draft decision of the World Health Organization on the organization's adoption of closing its representative office in Moscow is purely political and contradicts the constitution of the World Health Organization.
"The decision that was adopted is purely political, and the health care and medicine sector should be kept out of politics," TASS news agency quoted Kuznetsov as saying.
Kuznetsov explained that “doctors provide medical assistance and save lives regardless of the political status, nationality, place of residence and political views of patients,” stressing that “the decision contradicts the constitution and goals of the World Health Organization.”
Yesterday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin considered that the cooperation of the World Health Organization with Russia was and still represents a great value to the organization.
