Mansour: The absence of accountability of the occupation for its crimes encourages it to continue with them

The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, affirmed that the failure of the international community and the absence of accountability of the Israeli occupation for the war crimes and crimes against humanity it is committing against the Palestinians encourages it to continue with them.

Mansour stressed in letters to both the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the General Assembly that the international consensus on the issue of Palestine requires going beyond statements and taking responsible, serious and tangible measures at all levels with the aim of finding an end to Israel’s impunity, ending its occupation and ensuring the restoration of the Palestinian people. His legitimate national rights, foremost of which is the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on the basis of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

Mansour pointed out that the occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, arrested dozens of Palestinians and expelled worshipers from it, while allowing hundreds of settlers to storm it, revealing the occupation’s plans to seize it and Judaize it within the framework of its plans to empty occupied Jerusalem of the Palestinian presence, and his announcement of plans to demolish 12 villages in the Masafer Yatta area South Hebron and the establishment of 4,000 settlement units in the West Bank further disrupt the Palestinian geographic contiguity for the purpose of implementing annexation plans in a grave violation of international law and flagrant contempt for the Security Council and the General Assembly.
