You can now use the SPIEGEL app with Android Auto and Apple Carplay and operate it conveniently while driving.
In addition, you now have the option to automatically sync your personal playlist across your various mobile devices.
The new functions are available in the SPIEGEL app after the app has been updated.
If your app is not updated automatically, you can update it manually here in the iOS App Store for iPhones and iPads and here in the Play Store for Android devices.
How Android Auto and Apple Carplay work
The functionality is almost identical for Android and Apple devices.
It is important that you have already established a connection between your smartphone and your vehicle in advance.
After that, you need to go to the dedicated apps section on your vehicle's screen.
You can now play audio content such as podcasts and articles from the magazine with audio, either via your vehicle or via the SPIEGEL app.
Of course you can also play your playlist.
Or simply pick up where you left off before getting into your car.
The basic requirement is, of course, that your car supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
You can read about which models this applies to here for Android Auto and here for Apple Carplay.

Playlist synchronization
If you regularly switch between your various mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to listen to our audio offerings, you can now always update your playlist on the other device.
And not only that: the position of the previously played audio contribution is also transmitted, so that you can continue listening seamlessly.
If you want to use your playlist on several devices, activate synchronization using the "Synchronize playlist with other devices" button below your playlist.
You can use this new function in our app if you log into your personal account.
You can find out more about the numerous advantages of the account, such as your personal watch list, in this article.
We hope you enjoy the new features.
