Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will not be invited this year to the annual rally for Jerusalem Day at the Merkaz Harav yeshiva, which is scheduled to take place at the end of the month - Walla learned!
This is the main event of Jerusalem Day, especially for members of religious Zionism, with the participation of senior rabbis, public figures and politicians.
Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used to attend it almost every year throughout his tenure.
At the Merkaz Harav yeshiva, they are considering inviting Netanyahu to appear this year as well, this time as head of the opposition.
President Yitzhak Herzog was invited and confirmed his arrival.
In Prime Minister Bennett's office, however, no invitation was received.

In recent years, when Bennett was chairman of the Jewish House and chairman of the right, he used to attend the Jerusalem Day rally at the Rabbi's Center regularly.
This, until last year, when he was invited to a rally in the midst of negotiations to form a government, and decided not to participate in light of criticism of his intention to form a government with Yesh Atid, left-wing parties and the RAAM.
This year, after the formation of the government, the Merkaz Harav yeshiva does not intend to invite him, even though he is the first prime minister of religious Zionism and wears a kippah.
Bennett is not the only prime minister who will not attend the traditional rally at the rabbi's center.
Netanyahu and former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir used to attend the event, but Prime Ministers Ehud Barak, Ariel Sharon and Ehud Olmert did not attend the rally at the Rabbi's Center during their tenure.
No response was received from the Prime Minister's Office.
