The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission has warned of the deteriorating health condition of four Palestinian prisoners as a result of the arbitrary practices of the Israeli occupation against them, foremost of which is deliberate medical negligence.
Wafa Agency quoted the authority as saying in a statement today that the health condition of the cancer-stricken prisoner, Nasser Abu Hamid, 49, is deteriorating rapidly and unstable and is now going through a critical stage, especially after the rapid spread of the disease in his body, specifically in the lung.
The commission pointed out that the health conditions of the two prisoners shot by the occupation when they were arrested, Nour El-Din Jarbou, 27, and Mishaal Jaber, 17, are difficult and need treatment and follow-up, indicating that Jarbou was injured in the spine, which led to paralysis in his limbs, while Jaber was injured in his right eye, left hand and mouth.
The authority indicated that the prisoner Ali Al-Hroub, 49, suffers from a worsening of his health a year after he underwent an operation during which a mass was removed from his chest, as he suffers from severe swelling in his arm, a change in color and chest pain.
The Commission appealed to the international institutions concerned with prisoners' affairs to pressure the occupation authorities to stop their aggressive practices against the prisoners, foremost of which is medical negligence, which is a slow murder, and obligating them to provide them with treatment.
