Omri Burns, a 21-year-old from Rosh HaAyin, was attacked on Tuesday (Sunday) by a man with an iron bar, after commenting on his driving in Petah Tikva.

He said he was riding his scooter while working as a courier, and was planning to stop at a roadside bakery when he suddenly got into the lane of attacking the driver of the car.

After telling him he needed to signal, he turned to enter the mafia and was then attacked.

After suffering severe beatings for long minutes, during which passers-by asked the attacker to stop his actions, he was injured and taken to hospital.

The identity of the attacker has not yet been determined.

According to Omri, that day he started working at his new job at a car parts company.

"I was really happy about the new way, about the new job, I started the day with excitement," he said.

"I went out with the scooter for the delivery of spare parts, and on the way I wanted to grab something to eat. I came to stop at the 'Baker from Baghdad' in Petah Tikva to buy borax, and suddenly a car cut me off and there was almost an accident."

"I told the guy, 'You know, signaling it saves lives,'" Omri said.

According to him, the driver replied, "Do I owe you anything?"

He took off his helmet and walked towards the bakery, then felt beaten, he turned around and saw the driver holding an iron bar.

"I fell to the floor and he kept hitting me with an iron bar. And suddenly he also strangled me," Omri said, adding, "It felt like an eternity. All life passed me by. I thought I was going to die. I tried to shout and could not make a sound ... I asked him Mercy, I begged him to stop. "

At the time of the incident, passers-by who were at the scene tried to help, an anonymous witness said.

"I suddenly see a guy in front of me with an iron bar hitting a guy. There were people trying to separate. I'm on the phone with the police," she said.

The eyewitness, who tried to contact the police during the incident, photographed the attacking driver's vehicle, but is afraid to identify whether the attacker will also attack her.

Omri also heard the passers-by's attempts to help and said, "I remember people in the background shouting at him 'you're killing him,' and trying to stop him."

Omri was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and in the evening was released to his home.

The doctors who treated him said he miraculously survived, but said he had not yet recovered from the attack "I am still in trauma with dizziness and nausea".

For this reason he has not yet gone to file a physical complaint with the police, and has had to do so by telephone.
