How does Kretschmann assess the investigations against his deputy Strobl?

So far, the head of government has not commented on this.

In addition to this crisis, the traffic turnaround is a topic at the press conference of the head of government.

But there might not be enough money for that.

Stuttgart - The affair about the disclosure of a lawyer's letter to the press by Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) also burdens the green-black state government.

Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) is expected to comment on the investigations by the public prosecutor's office against Strobl for the first time today.

"The cabinet is not dealing with the Strobl cause," said government spokesman Arne Braun on Monday evening.

It's not on the agenda, not even under Miscellaneous.

Before the investigations became known on Wednesday evening, Kretschmann had backed Strobl.

"I appreciate Thomas Strobl very much and he still has my full trust," Kretschmann said at the time.

Shortly thereafter, the prosecution announced that they were investigating a journalist and the minister.

The reporter is suspected of quoting from official documents of an ongoing case.

Strobl, in turn, is said to have instigated him to do so.

At the heart of the affair are actually investigations into a leading police officer on suspicion of sexual harassment.

The man is said to have offered a chief inspector in a video chat to help her with her career if she would be of sexual service to him.

Strobl admitted on Wednesday that he had passed a letter from the police officer's lawyer to a journalist in December.

A central project of the coalition is to be dealt with in the cabinet: the traffic turnaround.

The Minister responsible, Winfried Hermann (Greens), wants to have his further developed Public Transport Strategy 2030 approved.

Its central goal is to double the number of passengers in public transport by 2030 compared to 2010.

But that will be expensive and it is not certain whether the Greens and CDU will make money for it in view of the rather gloomy financial prospects.

Hermann therefore reminded the heads of the coalition on Monday: "The coalition agreement consists not only of savings, but also of investments." dpa
