Syrian students studying in Cuba renewed their support and standing by their country in its war against terrorism, and their pride in the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in defeating terrorists.

During their annual conference in Havana, which carried the slogan “A covenant that we renew with knowledge, steadfastness and victory,” the students expressed their confidence that Syria will emerge victorious in its response to the aggressive war it is facing and in the ability of the Syrian Arab Army to win and defeat the schemes targeting Syria.

During the conference, Dr. Ali Barakat, member of the Executive Office of the National Union of Syrian Students and Head of the Office of Foreign Relations, called on students to pay all attention to their educational attainment and to acquiring skills and knowledge in preparation for putting them in the service of their country, noting the role of Syrian students and their contribution to Syria’s steadfastness and the victories it has achieved at all levels.

In response to the students' inquiries, he explained that the leadership of the union follows up on all issues of students studying abroad and works to find solutions to these issues that are raised in conferences through the Ministry of Higher Education and all concerned parties.

In turn, the Chargé d'Affairs at the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Cuba, Ali Abbas, gave a political presentation on the developments in the situation in Syria and the region.

The conference was attended by Ashraf Fadel, Director of the Secretariat Office in the National Union of Syrian Students.
