It is understood that the stolen electrical appliances and materials, including masks, cup noodles, paper-packaged drinks, proprietary Chinese medicines, and even hair dryers, electric kettles, and "slippers", cannot be ruled out.

The management of the shelter found that the supplies were often missing earlier, so they strengthened the inspection and conducted a surprise inspection on the employees who had finished work last Friday (May 6). Some materials were found, and the incident was revealed and reported to the police.

Since the Tam Mei Community Isolation Facility in Yuen Long ceased operation from May 3, the authorities assigned Non-Civil Service Contract Workers (NCSCs) to deliver supplies to other isolation facilities.

The materials of the isolation facilities are placed in designated storage rooms.

According to the source, customs officers who were managing the isolation facility on the day of the incident found an unattended private car parked outside the storage room, with an electric steamer and a kettle hidden in two cardboard boxes in the back seat of the car.

Knowing from the label on the carton that it belongs to a community isolation facility, I feel suspicious.

After investigation, officers arrested three non-civil servant contract workers.

In addition, on the same day, customs officers found a female employee's seat on a vehicle that was taking people to the subway station with supplies for isolation facilities, including an electric kettle, two boxes of Lianhuaqing Plague Capsules, a box of rapid test reagents, a The oil, some daily necessities and food, worth a total of 1,290 yuan, were suspected of being stolen, so they called the police for help.

In response to the inquiries of "Hong Kong 01", the police said that they received a referral from the relevant department on May 6, saying that some electrical appliances and food items in a community isolation facility in Tam Mei, Yuen Long were missing and were suspected to have been stolen.

After preliminary investigation, the case was classified as "theft", which was followed up by the Yuen Long District Criminal Investigation Team.

Officers arrested two men and two women, aged between 25 and 48, suspected of being involved in the case in Yuen Long District on the same day.

Three of the arrested men and women have been temporarily charged with one count of "enterprise theft"; one arrested woman has been temporarily charged with one count of "theft". The case will be brought before the Tuen Mun Magistrates' Court on June 23 hall.

In response to the enquiry of "Hong Kong 01", the Security Bureau stated that customs officers of the Tam Mei Community Isolation Facility in Yuen Long discovered two suspected theft and attempted theft cases on May 6. Police arrived at the scene and after preliminary investigations, a total of four non-civil service contract employees were arrested on suspicion of theft and attempted theft.

The customs management of the Tam Mei Community Isolation Facility in Yuen Long has always carefully managed all the materials in the isolation facility and attached great importance to the conduct of every staff member.

The security bureau said it was the first time theft has occurred at the facility.
