May is here, and with it the new outdoor pool season is just around the corner.

In Miesbach, the warm outdoor pool will start operating on Saturday, May 14th.

As is well known, it is the last opening in the existing form.

Because when the season ends in September, the redesign of the more than 60-year-old leisure facility begins.

According to the city, the preparations for the bathing operation are already in full swing.

And the first piece of good news for bathers is already certain: According to the 16th Bavarian Infection Protection Ordinance, staying in the Miesbach outdoor pool is again allowed without restrictions.

However, compliance with the basic protective measures - i.e. 1.5 meters distance and medical face mask - is still recommended.

The opening hours are already fixed.

The warm pool is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from May 14 to June 2, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from June 3 to August 15.

From August 16th to the last day, September 18th, the pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

sadness and anticipation

It is a special season for bathroom officer Erhard Pohl: “Two hearts are beating in my chest.

I spent my childhood and youth in this bath.

There are many good memories attached to it.

But we're getting a great, new, modern bathroom in return.” Pohl isn't afraid that bathers will at least become strangers to the new version.

“Surely some will think that the old bathroom is better.

But I think that we were able to integrate many wishes in the new pool, for example a nice area for small children, swimming lanes suitable for competitions with 25 and 50 meters and a nice ambience for the bathers.” Not to forget the new beach entrance, which is above all makes it easier for people with walking disabilities to get into the bathroom.

“The new bathroom really offers more.

If everything goes according to plan, the conversion work will begin after the end of the season.

The new pool is scheduled to open its doors in May/June 2023.

"The political will is there, the money is in the budget, the tenders are running - actually nothing should go wrong," says Pohl.

"I'm confident that we can keep to the time and financial plan." The city has already received approval for the early start of the conversion as part of the special funding program for swimming pool funding, as Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller recently reported to the city council.

This makes construction possible without subsidy damage.

Special final planned

For the last season, the bathroom consultant hopes that as many visitors as possible will come to say goodbye to the pool and "keep it in good memory".

A “special finale” is planned at the end, as Pohl lets on.

"We'll come up with something nice there."

Season tickets are available again this year, which can now only be bought in the town hall, treasury room 1.

A current photo in passport format is required.

Entry prices have not increased compared to the 2021 season.

Adults pay three euros per day, children one euro.

The season ticket costs 60 euros for adults and 20 euros for children.
