The Syrian Trust for Development announced the acceptance of 132 applications for a productive development loan in the city of Al-Haffah and its countryside in Lattakia, with a ceiling of five million Syrian pounds.

The secretariat stated in a statement published on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook” that the civil committees that were formed have completed the process of listing the beneficiaries of the productive development loan in the Al-Haffah area, indicating that this step comes after a series of participatory sessions attended by representatives of the secretariat and representatives of the National Bank for Finance The smallest with the fire-affected families who meet the conditions for obtaining the loan that aims to develop existing projects or finance emerging projects in order to achieve the social development goal of the fire-affected villages.

The secretariat indicated that a joint committee from both sides had previously determined precisely the types of projects that could be financed, and conducted field visits to the projects, followed by the acceptance of 132 productive loan applications in the city of Al Haffa and its countryside, with a ceiling of 5 million.

According to the secretariat’s statement, these loans represent an opportunity for the people of those areas to confront the challenges posed by the fires through projects that return a good income to their owners and provide them with opportunities for further development and financial collection in order to achieve sustainable development for the surrounding environment.

The Secretariat had announced that the National Bank for Microfinance began on the 28th of last April to disburse the productive development loan to 50 people affected by the fires in Lattakia and the Jableh countryside.

On the twenty-sixth of last April, the secretariat launched the productive development loan for those affected by the fires that swept thousands of acres of agricultural and forest land in the countryside of Lattakia in the fall of 2020, with a value determined according to the borrower’s need and the nature of his project, and it starts from 250 thousand Syrian pounds to 5 million Syrian pounds.
