District – Even the initiators did not expect this: The Committee on Construction, Housing and Transport in the Bavarian State Parliament referred the “Petition & Complaint about the voting behavior of the governing parties and the Bavarian State Parliament on July 21, 2021 at half-hourly intervals on the Werdenfelsbahn” to the state government.

"A huge success for the petition every half hour of the Werdenfelsbahn," says Petra Daisenberger happily.

As a result of this decision, the state government will now deal with the expansion of the Munich-Innsbruck railway line again after the negative decision last year.

"I'm totally thrilled and super surprised," admits the spokeswoman for the Werdenfelsbahn action alliance, who followed the debate live in the Maximilianeum in Munich on Tuesday afternoon.

In the previous year, the SPD petition was rejected with the votes of the CSU, Free Voters and the AfD.

In the course of the discussion, Daisenberger remarked astonishingly: “The rejection was out immediately.

There has been a rethink, I heard that.” The district councilor of the Greens also admits that she was quite perplexed when it became apparent that the debate was picking up speed in the right direction: every half hour of the Werdenfelsbahn.

323 signers push the pressure with a petition

The request had been submitted to the state government by the Murnau & surrounding area of ​​the Greens as part of the mobility transition.

A signature list with 323 signers forced the pressure.

"We insist on the implementation of the request that has been pending for 30 years," Daisenberger explains.

The demand for a clock compression is the most important aspect of the petition.

The double-track expansion of the railway line is also part of the letter.

"But we have to differentiate here," emphasizes Daisenberger.

Because the dual track should only take place where it appears necessary and sensible, and as nature-friendly as possible.

"The Murnauer Moos should not be affected," promises the 52-year-old.

Now the petition is referred to the state government "as material," the committee recommended the state government's request.

Daisenberger tries to interpret the resolution.

First of all, there is no time pressure.

"But: The route is back." There is still the possibility to work on the modernization of the Werdenfelsbahn, the members of the state parliament of the Greens and the SPD have the opportunity to inquire about the state of affairs every half hour.

In addition, the Werdenfelsbahn action alliance is considering whether to commission a study that documents the profitability of the route.

The initiators of the petition have achieved at least one major goal: the general rejection of the half-hourly clock was prevented.

"The bad signal that was sent to Berlin last year is gone," says Daisenberger happily.

“The route is worth it.

We will certainly not allow another 30 years to pass before we get the half-hourly service in our district."
