As the census page explains, to complete the online query you must follow four steps.

Here we explain them and answer some of the most frequently asked questions.

2 - Generate the unique housing code

There, the step that you must follow is enabled: generate the unique housing code that you need to be able to complete the form.

To fill in this code, the first thing the page asks you to do is enter your document type and number, as well as the day and month of birth.

This data is not saved or linked to the information you will give during the questionnaire, states the official guide.

It is requested to verify that the person who will fill out the form is a human and that they have the minimum age required (14 years).

Then it will ask you to put the address of the place where you live, even if it does not match the one registered with the document.

If you have difficulties when completing the housing information, you can consult here the answers to the most frequently asked questions in this and other steps.

3 - Answer the questionnaire

Next, you must answer the questions in the questionnaire.

Filling out the form takes about 20 minutes if it is a single-person household, that is, in which only you live.

In the event that your household is made up of more people, the authorities recommend calculating about 12 extra minutes to fill in the data for each one.

It is key that you have clear information about the people who make up your household if you are the one who will fill out the form.

The questionnaire is organized into four blocks: dwelling, list of people in the household, characteristics of the household and the dwelling, and population.

You can get more details in this video.

At the end of each block you can review the answers you gave and, if necessary, edit them.

If you have doubts about how to answer a question, we recommend you read this guide that explains the options in each case.

In total there are 61 questions and it is mandatory to answer all of them.

If you do not participate in the census or give false information you can receive a fine.

If you don't get to answer all the questions at once, you can re-enter with the unique housing code and continue.

The answers you complete are automatically saved.

If you didn't save that code, you can retrieve it from the home screen using the email you entered.

4 - Finish and get the receipt

Then you must "finish" the questionnaire in order to obtain the voucher.

Once you do this step you can no longer edit the answers.

The voucher is sent to your email and you can also download it directly from the page.

If for some reason you do not have it and you want to access it, you can do so by entering again through the home screen with the unique code of the home that you obtained at the beginning of the process.

This receipt, which has six digits, is what you will have to give the census taker when he comes to your house.

The visits will take place on May 18 starting at 08:00 am local time.

If you made a mistake when completing the digital census, for example not including a person from the household in the answers, you must correct this situation in the interview on Census Day.
