Family dispute in Lower Bavaria escalates: man stabs brother-in-law and fatally injures him

A dispute between two family members in Lower Bavaria escalated so much on Saturday that one of them had to pay with his life.
Mainburg – There was a deadly attack on Saturday evening in Mainburg (Kelheim district).
Two men argued so violently that the situation escalated.
One of them grabbed a knife and stabbed his opponent.
He was injured so badly that he died a short time later.

Deadly family dispute in Mainburg: Man attacks his brother-in-law with a knife
The call came in at around 7 p.m. at the police headquarters in Straubing, according to a press release from the police headquarters in Lower Bavaria.
In the western part of Mainburg, a seriously injured man would be lying on the street.
A large contingent of emergency and rescue services then made their way to the scene.
When they got there, they found a 46-year-old man who died on the spot despite first-aid measures being taken by the rescue service.
The helpers could do nothing more for him.
It later emerged that the 46-year-old had argued with his brother-in-law, a 55-year-old with Yugoslav roots.
The argument must have escalated, because the 55-year-old grabbed a knife at some point in the course of the argument.
With this he stabbed his brother-in-law.
He was still injured and tried to flee the property.
But it collapsed a little later "in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene," the statement said.
Deadly family quarrel in Mainburg: alleged perpetrator is in prison
The 55-year-old man was arrested by officers at the scene without resistance, police said.
The Kripo Landshut and the public prosecutor's office in Regensburg took over the investigation that evening.
An arrest warrant was issued against the 55-year-old on strong suspicion of manslaughter.
On Sunday, the man was brought before an investigating judge at the Regensburg district court and then taken to a prison.
