Green parliamentary group leader Andreas Schwarz clearly backed Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) in the affair of passing on a letter from a lawyer.
In the debate requested by the FDP on Wednesday in the state parliament, Schwarz said that the opposition's allegations against Strobl were "underground".
It goes without saying that it is the task of the opposition to keep a close eye on the government - but that is not what the FDP and SPD are about here.
Stuttgart - "They only care about personally damaging the Minister of the Interior."
Schwarz accused the FDP of originally wanting to call the debate "betrayal from above".
When the President of the Landtag Muhterem Aras (Greens) rejected this, the Liberals attacked Aras for it.
"This is sawing the foundations of our parliamentary democracy." The constant calls for Strobl's resignation are out of place.
"The Minister of the Interior is doing an excellent job." The Greens politician warned the opposition not to constantly want to explain to the public prosecutor what they can and cannot do.
"I think we should just let the judiciary do its job."

The FDP domestic politician Julia Goll had previously stated again that Strobl had betrayed official secrets by passing on the letter from the lawyer of a high-ranking police officer.
In addition, the CDU politician violated his duty of care towards the official.
Strobl lacks "awareness of the problem".
Goll said: "He is still of the opinion that he acted absolutely correctly." Worst of all, however, is that the Minister of the Interior is obstructing the judiciary by not authorizing the public prosecutor's office to investigate violations of official secrets.
The prosecution announced a week ago that they were investigating a journalist and the minister on suspicion of illegal disclosure of court hearings.
The reporter is suspected of quoting from official documents of an ongoing case.
Strobl, in turn, is said to have instigated him to do so.
At the heart of the affair are actually investigations into a leading police officer on suspicion of sexual harassment.
