The need for Moosburg's primary schools is growing, but for the city of Moosburg, rapidly increasing numbers of pupils mean immense challenges, as has now been discussed.

Moosburg

- It has been known for a long time that the city of Moosburg is heading towards a problem with the primary school capacities and that a third primary school will soon be needed.

During the formal act of the school district assignment for the Amperauen development area, the current situation was discussed in the city council on Monday.

It was also briefly about the children from Wang, who visit the Theresia Gerhardinger elementary school in Moosburg as guests.

The Amperauen development area is assigned to this facility because the northern school center with middle school and high school is not far away.

There was nothing further to discuss about this in the meeting of the committee and actually only the statement, which was then also made by the city council.

More children are expected every year

Mayor Josef Dollinger (FW) made it clear in this context that the North Primary School will have five first classes in the fall and that a new era will begin.

"This cohort doesn't get any smaller in the second, third or fourth grade," said Dollinger.

Together with the new Amperauen residential area, there would be even more children every year.

The local manager pointed out that the primary school would definitely have five classes and that the new space requirements could only be met with container solutions.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The head of the town hall explained that the construction of a third primary school would take at least ten years before the school actually started operating - "and we don't have a permit for the school yet".

The city's dilemma exacerbates the question of space, "because without a plot of land we don't even have to start the approval process".

One idea is: Wanger children at the Gammelsdorf school

In this context, Evelin Altenbeck (Greens) asked whether pupils from Wang also attend the northern elementary school.

In her opinion, one could think about whether it makes sense to accommodate new elementary school students from Wang in Gammelsdorf.

Dollinger thanked for the new approach, with which the increase in the number of students could be curbed somewhat.

This speech then caused turbulence because one or the other city councilor saw the children from the neighboring community being deported.

Altenbeck then became clear once again and underlined the good will: “I didn't say that children from Wang are not wanted here.

But maybe a few more students will help for the small elementary school in Gammelsdorf.”

Fast decisions are needed for the future

After the short excursion of the discussion, Mayor Dollinger emphasized once again that the city council must make the very important fundamental decisions for the future of the schools quickly.

This applies to a location for the third primary school as well as the expansion of the north school center.

"We have to find a solution together with the district of Freising because of the high school," said Dollinger.

He once held the city councilors accountable and referred to last week's Stalag discussion.

High-ranking preservationists had vehemently demanded that all three guard barracks of the former prison camp be preserved as a whole when planning the expansion of the school complex.
