"Want to do things" is the first but not the only condition for "doing things". The key is "being able to do things", and "being able to do things" depends on "knowing how to do things".
Li Jiachao, who received 1,416 support votes out of 1,428 valid votes for the 2022 Chief Executive Election, was elected as the new chief executive with a record-breaking 97.74% voter turnout and 99.16% approval rate. However, judging from his philosophy, political platform, and commitment since his candidacy, he has neither systematically sorted out the nature of the problem nor boldly faced the core of the problem. I am afraid it is difficult to convince him that he has the ability and courage to "can do things".
When it comes to "governance," President Xi Jinping advocates "comprehensively deepening reforms and realizing the modernization of national governance", which is based on "upholding and improving socialism with Chinese characteristics." However, it has not responded to the corruption and distortion of the "capitalism with Hong Kong characteristics" system, and has not dared to promote structural reforms and progress. How can we improve the governance capacity of the SAR government?
