Mexico City-SANA
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has announced that he will not attend the Summit of the Americas if the United States does not invite all Latin American countries to it.
And the media quoted Obrador as saying: How can the summit be for America without all the American countries, adding, “We have to unite, even if we have differences that can be resolved by listening to each other and dialogue, and no one has the right to exclude others.”
In response to a question whether his absence would be a message of protest, the Mexican president said: Yes, because I do not want the same policy to continue in America.
These statements come days after the administration of US President Joe Biden announced that it was “unlikely” to invite countries such as Cuba, Venezuela or Nicaragua to the Summit of the Americas to be held in Los Angeles from 6 to 10 June.
