"I'm lucky to be vaccinated and have the booster," the billionaire said, adding that he has mild symptoms. Gates has been one of the main promoters of prevention measures against the coronavirus.

Billionaire Bill Gates, 66, announced from his Twitter account that he has COVID-19.

"I am experiencing mild symptoms," he said.

Gates assured that he is "lucky" to be vaccinated and to have the booster and that he will be isolated until he feels better.

He also said he met with his team from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for Teams software, who had met for the first time in two years and was able to "see everyone and thank them for their hard work."

"We will continue to work with our partners and do everything we can to ensure that none of us ever have to face a pandemic again," the Microsoft co-founder wrote on Twitter.
