The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not intend to impose martial law across the country or in parts of it against the background of the special military operation in Ukraine.
"This matter is not among the plans on the table," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency as saying in response to a question from journalists in this regard today.
This came in response to Avril Haynes, Director of National Intelligence, before the Senate that Putin might impose martial law with the aim of diverting the industrial sector in Russia to the military track.
