As part of the monthly meeting of the Society of Story and Fiction in the Arab Writers Union, writer Rashiq Suleiman signed his novel “Autumn Oleander”, which won the Hanna Mina Prize for Fiction 2020.

In his speech at the beginning of the signing ceremony, the head of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, saw that the creator should not be cut off from his past, especially the educated creator, considering that the importance of this novel lies in the fact that its author talks about war in the past, today and the future, and that celebrating it is one of the Union’s priorities in taking care of it. with young writers.

The Vice President of the Writers Union, Tawfiq Ahmed, spoke about the novelist Rashiq, who belongs to a family that gave the homeland many martyrs, as well as his service to science during the war years, which enriched his literary experience and helped him continue his creative experience.

The editor-in-chief of Al-Mawqif Al-Adabi magazine, a member of the Executive Office, Falak Hosariah, drew attention to the importance of the level of the novel and the values ​​that it embraces and portrays the lives of Syrians over the past years.

Tawfeeqa Khaddour, the reporter of the Story Association, which managed the signing ceremony, described the novel as distinctive because it depicted the dream in a creative way that reflects the author's experience despite his young age.

In his speech, Suleiman, the author of the novel, explained that the autumn of oleander comes from the depth of the wounds caused by the war on Syria with a return to the recent past, where he dealt with the duality of the dream and what man leaves behind on his way in the journey of life, starting in its events from the city of Damascus and from two different times that are related to each other from the eighties And up to the time of the terrorist war on Syria.

The novel tells the story of Nour, a theater actor coming from the countryside, who meets a girl named Julnar, who comes to him for help with a wound that tired her soul. The events begin to escalate into a complex plot plot when Nour feels a deep love for her, but Gelnar hides from him a love story that the reader will not discover except in the last pages of the novel.
