Rock im Park can take place again in 2022 after two years.

There will be an “A-Team” so that everyone feels comfortable.

Responses to this have been mixed online.

Nuremberg - Finally rock in the park again!

The festival in Nuremberg had to be canceled for two years due to Corona.

This year all rock fans can look forward to camping, concerts and parties at the dozen pond.

Most of the line-up is already set, and tickets for the festival are almost sold out.

This year there will even be “RFID wristbands” for cashless payment.

The organizers also announced that there will be a "Team Awareness" on site to "make Rock im Park a festival where everyone can feel good."

Rock im Park 2022: "Team Awareness" should provide more protection

"We are in favor of treating each other with respect and appreciation and oppose any form of violence, border crossing and discrimination," the organizers write in a Facebook post.

There will therefore be an awareness team at the festival "to consciously deal with topics such as sexism, homophobia, racism." With the question "Where is Panama" festival visitors have the opportunity to get support without further enquiries.

You should simply contact the staff with the white vests or the white buttons.

The organizers received not only positive feedback (“Great action” or “Really good idea” can be read under the post) on Facebook for their commitment to “awareness” but also numerous negative ones.

Some Facebook users are anything but enthusiastic about the campaign and are complaining.

"I thought it was a rock festival and not a political information event about sexism, homophobia, racism," someone said angrily.

Rock im Park 2022: People apparently annoyed by the "awareness offer".

"We want to hear rock, everything else goes without saying," writes a Facebook user in the comments.

"Please let the festival be the festival and not an emergency education program." Another worries that you will now be instructed with every joke.

In his opinion, people are “old enough”.

There are also concerns that the promotion could be exploited negatively.

"I've also received accusations from people I didn't even know," writes one man.

Rock im Park: Organizers give tips on how to behave properly in tricky situations

The festival opposes "any form of violence, transgression and discrimination, such as sexism, racism or homophobia".

The "Team Awareness", also called "A-Team", is intended to promote respectful cooperation.

Anyone who observes a situation in which a person is being discriminated against or harassed in any way should help.

The organizers give tips on how exactly this help can look like:

  • Rock im Park refers to the 5 D's:

  • 1. Go DIRECTLY into the situation & intervene.

    "Can I support you?"

  • 2. DELEGATE & ask someone else for help.

"Can you get the awareness team?"

  • 3. THEN check on the affected person.

"Do you need something right now?"

    4. Distract FROM to de-escalate the situation.

"Hi, do you know when the next band is playing?"

  • 5. DOCUMENT & record the situation.

"I have recorded the situation, how do we want to proceed with this?"

The "Awareness" program at this year's Rock im Park is supported by the "Guardian Angels".
