Seven minors arrested for the murder of a gang member in broad daylight in the Madrid district of Villaverde

The Trinitarians cried out in networks for revenge for the murder of Jaime Guerrero, alias

, the 15-year-old boy who was murdered on the first weekend of February from a stab wound to the heart on Calle de Atocha in Madrid.

Revenge came two months later and in broad daylight.

Members of this gang ambushed Alejandro Pérez Carmona, a member of the rival group, the Dominican Do n't Play (DDP), from which he was unable to escape.

They cornered him in a group and one of them stabbed him to death when he was alone on the street in his district, Villaverde.

The victim had been investigated for Jaime's crime.

The gang members took justice into his hands before the courts did.

The Police have just arrested seven minors as being responsible for this planned murder.

The youngest of them has just turned 14 years old and the investigators believe that he is the material author of the stab wounds.

Alejandro, who was 18 years old, is the fourth fatality in four months of the gang war.

According to the investigations, the detainees set a trap for his victim.

The "main hypothesis" of the Police is that they wrote to him from a false profile posing as a girl and, on the day of his murder, he thought that he was going on a date.

His rivals had already tried this trick to finish him off the day before.

Six of the detainees have been interned in closed juvenile centers and the seventh has been released on probation.

Among them were several friends of Jaime, as investigators have been able to verify by publications on social networks.

The Government delegate, Mercedes González, and the superior chief of the Madrid Police, Manuel Soto, have appeared this Wednesday to announce the arrests.

Younger and less hierarchical

Younger, less hierarchical and fueled by the battle they have on social networks, especially TikTok.

This is the portrait of youth gangs in Madrid at the moment, a scenario that, according to police sources, makes it more difficult to foresee their next movements and prevent their attacks.

It was almost impossible, according to research sources, to predict that they were going to dare to kill in the middle of the street, at the gates of a Mercadona and a few meters from a Cercanías stop, under the midday sun.

The coordination between the Homicide group and the Information Brigade, which has three groups specialized in gangs, has been key to solving this crime in a matter of two weeks.

One of the fundamental elements has been the follow-up with the video surveillance cameras of the route that the detainees made until they assaulted their victim, who was defenseless at that moment.

Most of those arrested belonged to the

―the name given to the territorial groups into which they are divided within a gang― of Usera and Opañel.

The policemen searched the house of eight alleged gang members —the seven detainees and another suspect— and found the usual repertoire of clothing, necklaces and manuscripts about the Trinitarians.

After the murder, the investigators searched the victim's house and there they found several items of clothing that match those of a figure that appeared in the recordings of the fight in which Jaime died in Atocha.

However, Soto has specified, the investigation of Jaime's crime is still open and "DNA samples" have yet to be verified that could confirm Alejandro's relationship with that homicide.

That crime was precisely what motivated the so-called anti-gang plan, already underway, to intensify, with which it sought to redouble police pressure on this type of violent groups.

From then on, the parks and bars where gang members normally meet became more closely guarded, which could have led them to choose another place to surprise Alejandro, police sources point out.

Alejandro was also investigated for his relationship with the murder of rapper Isaac, who was stabbed to death in a tunnel in Madrid in the summer of 2021. According to the police investigation, the DDP did not tolerate that Isaac did not want to join them to rap and, furthermore, , accused him of sympathizing with the rival gang.

In the recordings of video clips and social network publications that appear in the instruction of that case in which those detained for that crime appear, Alejandro was identified, with his characteristic slim figure and messy hair covering his face.

They did not arrest him, but the friends with whom he sang threats against his enemies did end up in prison or in juvenile centers awaiting trial.

His friends lost their freedom, he, his life.
