Germering – On May 11th, more precisely on May 11th, 1972, Pastor Andreas Christian Jaster, the head of the Catholic town church in Germering, was born.

Pastor Jaster would like to celebrate his birthday with the whole congregation at a Eucharistic celebration on Wednesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. in the parish church of St. Martin.

After the service there will be a standing reception, which can also take place according to the current corona situation.

“Eucharist comes from the Greek and translated means 'gratitude';

and I am very happy and grateful to be a pastor in Germering," explains Pastor Jaster and adds: "That's why I'm perfectly happy, but I would be happy to receive support from the Germeringer Insel Friends' Association, be it in the collection on that day or by bank transfer with the subject line 'Pastor Jaster Birthday' at the Sparkasse (IBAN: DE18 7005 3070 0031 4678 71)."

For more than ten years, the

Friends of Germeringer Insel

has been helping to support and financially support the work of Germeringer Insel and the multi-generation house "Zenja", exclusively for the benefit of Germering.

Last year, the association was able to award funds of

almost 14,000 euros

, despite falling income due to Corona.

The Germering Island Volunteer Agency, the Family Godparents project and needy people in Germering received funding.

In 2022, the project

"Film and Enjoyment for Seniors"

by the Germering social service is to be funded in cooperation with Cafe Zenja.

Since October 2017, the Germering social service has shown selected films, usually four times a year.

In 2020 and 2021, the Corona project was slowed down to a limited extent.

The program will be renewed this year.

The seniors pay a small fee for the film and dinner.

Low-

income seniors are invited.

The income does not cover the costs, financial support is necessary.

Also

"We help students"

of Arbeiterwohlfahrt Germering is a project that is supported by the Förderverein.

This project was also forced to take a break due to Corona and should now start again.

The voluntary helpers come from the student service of the Max-Born-Gymnasium and also from the middle and secondary schools.

The helpers are deployed in the midday care of the Theresen elementary school, in the open all-day school in Wittelsbacherstraße and in the midday care of the Kirchen-, Kleinfeld- and Kerschensteiner schools.

The helpers receive an expense allowance of six euros per hour.

The offer of help is free of charge for the pupils and is therefore also accessible to children from financially weak families.

The project is only financed by donations and the sponsor's own funds.
