She asked whether the Hong Kong government has negotiated with other airports in the mainland and the Greater Bay Area to rationalize the right to use airspace.
Chen Fan replied in writing that the authorities set up a tripartite working group in 2004 to jointly formulate appropriate measures so that all airports in the region can maximize their benefits. Chen Fan continued that the tripartite working group will complete the work report on the analogy and simulation of the airspace in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in 2021, and explore multiple ideas for the development of the airspace in the Greater Bay Area.
The tripartite working group will carry out research on the airspace planning of the airport clusters in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the future, and continue to explore the application of new technologies to promote the innovation and upgrading of air traffic control operations in the Greater Bay Area.
