For the Europa League final of Eintracht Frankfurt, Deutsche Bahn wanted to put a special train on the tracks to Seville.

But nothing will come of it now.

Frankfurt – It could have been a wild ride over the rails, but nothing will come of it.

There will be no special Deutsche Bahn train to the Europa League final from Eintracht Frankfurt to Seville.

The railway announced on Wednesday (May 11).

In order to give even more Eintracht fans the opportunity to travel to the SBU final against Glasgow Rangers on May 18 in Seville, Deutsche Bahn launched a campaign on its Twitter channel.

The math was simple: If the post gets 753,056 likes, the train will provide a special train to the final.

The number of likes refers to the population of the city of Frankfurt am Main, as reported by fnp.de.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Special train to Seville fails due to too few likes

But the required likes did not come about.

It was not enough for the special train for Eintracht fans, the company said via short message service Twitter.

As of Wednesday, 7 p.m., only 156,259 fans put their hearts under the Deutsche Bahn contribution.

The target was clearly missed.

Perhaps one or the other Eintracht fan had other concerns about the campaign: "I don't think the fans want to arrive 90 minutes after kick-off," replied a user under the Deutsche Bahn contribution.

As the railway announced, five tickets for the final against Glasgow Rangers on May 18th as well as Interrail passes will be raffled off in a competition.

For those who stayed at home, Eintracht Frankfurt is offering a public viewing in the Deutsche Bank Park.

However, some ticket holders try to make a profit out of it.
