Hand on heart, would you have recognized him?
Helmet, mirrored sunglasses and a rather unbavarian jersey.
FC Bayern star Neuer is out and about in Upper Bavaria on his racing bike.
Tegernsee – The captain was also busy on the non-training days: Manuel Neuer (36) sat in the racing bike saddle on Monday and Tuesday.
His performance is quite impressive.
One of his tours was over 120 kilometers long and Neuer climbed almost 900 meters in altitude.
Which corresponds to an average speed of 29.4 km/h.
Afterwards, Neuer treated himself to a deservedly deserved glass of white wine at Aran am Tegernsee.
So while Neuer is pushing the pace on his racing bike, he doesn't feel any rush in the forthcoming contract negotiations for his new working papers.
"I don't have to extend the contract yet, we have all the time in the world," said the national goalkeeper after the 2-2 win against VfB Suttgart and added: "The talks are going really well."
Will Manuel Neuer extend his contract with FC Bayern?
The fact is: Both the player and the club want to extend the contract that expires in summer 2023 ahead of schedule.
As is so often the case, the ongoing negotiations are about the parameters of salary and term.
Also important for Neuer: That goalkeeping coach and confidant Toni Tapalovic (41) can work at the club as long as Neuer is tied to Bayern Munich.
While Tapalovic was also involved in tactical matters and decisions of the coaching team under ex-Bayern coach Hansi Flick, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann (34) relies on his two assistant coaches Xaver Zembrod and Dino Toppmöller in this area.
Nevertheless, it is extremely unlikely that Neuer's early contract extension will fail because of these small background noises.
