SC Wörthsee is looking forward to a new attraction: the first public calisthenics park in the district is being built on its premises.
The association has also broken new ground in terms of financing.
Steinebach
– Calisthenics includes athletic training that integrates body weight exercises.
Devices that athletes can use to let off steam in this way should be available from September next to SC Wörthsee's Albrecht-Deyhle-Haus on Etterschlager Straße.
SC Wörthsee organized around 6,800 euros out of a total cost of 20,000 euros via the crowdfunding campaign at VR Bank Starnberg-Herrsching-Landsberg.
Calisthenics is in fashion.
In Munich and other cities, calisthenics parks are springing up all over the place.
Gyms in the county offer this type of exercise equipment.
In Steinebach everyone should be able to use the calisthenics park, even if they are not a member of the club.
Therefore, in a press release, the SC also speaks of "a new chapter in the club's history" and an "outdoor fitness studio that will be available to all citizens, regardless of membership".
Treasurer Matthias Fiedel sees it this way: "Sport connects, and in times like these we want to set an example as a sports club." On the one hand, the park offers members new opportunities, on the other hand, SC Wörthsee also wants to present itself as a club, "which on all sides is open and sees itself as part of an active community".
The word "park" is perhaps a bit high.
Because it is large equipment made of poles, ropes and ladders that can be used for a wide variety of exercises.
The area for the device is about 134 square meters.
"Of course, there will be introductory events for the opening in September," the association announces, and there will also be information boards with suggestions for exercises.
The association organized the money through advertising on the VR Bank crowdfounding portal.
"The VR Bank rounded up generously for every donation euro that was collected in this way," explains SC spokesman Christian Bonk.
The first goal was 5000 euros, which should be generated by February 15th in this way.
In fact, 4156 euros came together plus a grant of 2645 euros from the bank.
A check was handed over.
6801 euros are already collected, the rest of the club denies from its cash register.
"There has already been a positive vote on this," says Bonk.
