A musical homage to "Strong Women": The Young Choir Ubi Caritas inspired with its annual concert.
Forstern
- "Strong women" - under this motto, the young choir Ubi Caritas, under the direction of Konrad Huber, designed a lively Mother's Day concert in the fully occupied small gymnasium of the elementary and middle school in Forstern.
After more than two years of the Corona forced break, the women were back on stage.
The well-known pop songs were all about one thing: Cupid's varied game, which leads the lovers down light and dark paths.
In the lively choral arrangements, the singers stormed through the night, talking about the power of love, about pain, anger and disappointment, but also about security, self-determination and new beginnings.
When "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" was played, Marilyn Monroe immediately came to mind.
All of this was served in a relaxed, lively manner and effectively staged the female voices of Ubi Caritas with solo performances.
Instrumental music rounded off the concert.
Sonja Petri (saxophone), who – accompanied by Huber on the guitar – played “Summertime” gave a glimpse of sunny days.
Ella and Eva Deuter (flute) also took part.
Rosi Hemingway provided the piano accompaniment.
"A little peace" was sung at the end of the concert for current reasons, combined with the request to donate to the local Ukraine aid and also to support the choir work.
The audience thanked them for the performance with a standing ovation.
Calls for more followed, which did not remain unheard.
All visitors were given a red heart to take home as a farewell.
The audience donated generously: 756 euros were raised for the Ukraine aid and 727 euros for the choir work.
By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.
