The alternative energy projects in the town of Beit Saber in the Damascus countryside are witnessing a demand among farmers and the people as they save farmers’ expenses, reduce effort and increase production.
A number of farmers who installed alternative energy to operate their wells in order to irrigate their crops stressed, in statements to SANA, the economic and productive importance of these projects. Mahmoud Hussein Haswieh pointed out that he has 56 panels that enable him to irrigate between 50 and 75 dunums.
The farmer Abdul-Hadi Akko explained that he installed 12 panels that enable him to irrigate 10 dunums, but he seeks to increase the panels in order to be able to expand the area he cultivates, while Asaad Hamza Haswi confirmed that he installed 65 panels that enable him to irrigate 120 dunums, calling on all farmers to implement such a project because of its importance economical and long-term savings.
The head of the local council in Beit Saber, Bilal Hasweya, confirmed that alternative energy projects began to witness a boom in the town, as the number of those who use alternative energy to operate their wells for the purpose of irrigation reached 10 farmers and 20 citizens in their homes for lighting and operating their electrical appliances.
Hasweyeh expressed his hope to expedite the installation of a solar panel system on drinking water wells in the town, amounting to three to end the suffering of citizens in this regard and to maintain the Badran spring basin located within the Bahiran Valley in Baqasim, which irrigates the towns of Beit Saber and Beit Tema and part of Kafr Hor through natural liquefaction through Installing an aneurysm for the cracked part of the spring.
