Amazon is currently building a large sorting center on the Kletthamer Feld in Erding-West.
But when the halls will go into operation is completely open.
Erding - According to information from our newspaper, Amazon has major problems finding enough staff.
The group is only nebulous about it.
The parcels are delivered to the sorting center and sorted by post code before they are delivered to the customer from here, the so-called “last mile”.
The project was controversial in the city council – additional traffic, fear of precarious jobs, promotion of online trade.
But the committee's hands were tied.
Years ago, a second logistician was approved in addition to GLS, which also resides at Kletthamer Feld.
Amazon in Erding: the opening date was never mentioned
Those involved remember that there was talk of starting up the distribution center in autumn of this year.
When asked by our newspaper, an Amazon spokesman made it clear “that we never gave a date”.

It is not officially known whether Amazon is struggling to find staff - we are talking about 500 employees in the final stage of development.
Our newspaper sent Amazon a list of questions.
The answers are very general.
A specific date for the start of operations at the new location in Erding has not yet been set, Amazon reports - surprising and rather untypical for a very advanced construction project.
Amazon wants to create 150 jobs in Erding
The statement also states that the company will start step by step and plans to create around 150 jobs within the first year of operation.
Research by our newspaper has shown that Amazon has commissioned a temporary work agency to find workers.
The Freising Employment Agency does not want to comment on the specific case.
Spokeswoman Christine Schöps only explains: "It is often common for the employment agencies to be involved in the personnel recruitment processes when larger companies relocate."
Is Amazon not finding enough workers in Erding?
When asked whether the job market may not have enough resources for a large logistics center, Schöps says: "There is definitely potential for applicants here in our and neighboring agency districts."
Criticism that Amazon pays too badly is countered by its spokesman: In Germany, wages from twelve euros gross per hour have been introduced for all employees.
After 24 months, employees were earning an average of around 2750 euros gross per month, including limited employee shares from Amazon.com and other extras.
In addition, the "Career Choice Program" is offered, in which Amazon covers up to 95 percent of the costs for training and further education.
Amazon asserts: Temporary workers earn no less than their own employees
With regard to temporary employment, the company announced that it wanted to set up a core team consisting largely of its own employees.
In order to be able to start quickly, you rely on the support of temporary employment agencies.
But their forces earned no less than their own.
Many workers do not need any formal training or apprenticeship.
According to Amazon, 20 to 25 management positions are also planned in Erding, including site and shift managers, IT staff and human resources.
