Nine weddings are to take place in Frankfurt's Römer.
But the registry office postpones the dates – because Eintracht Frankfurt is playing in the Europa League final.
Frankfurt – Because of Eintracht Frankfurt's Europa League final next Wednesday (May 18), the city's registry office has canceled nine weddings in the Römer.
In the event of a win against the Glasgow Rangers, many revelers can be expected around the Römerberg from midday on the following Thursday (May 19), the city justified its decision, as reported by fnp.de.
“For people, a wedding is an important life event.
Everything should be perfect on this day, because everyone remembers this for the rest of their lives.
With tens of thousands of highly emotional football fans directly below the wedding hall, we cannot offer our bridal couples the dignified setting that they rightly expect from a wedding in the Römer," said Stephanie Wüst, the head of the department responsible.

Frankfurt: Roman bridal couples have to reschedule because of the SGE game
As the FFH portal writes, citing the registry office, the weddings have been moved to other days.
But: The bridal couples initially gave the whole thing a real fright.
A bride told FFH: "Hairdresser, restaurant, location - everything was already booked for May 19th.
A disaster."
Natascha Keck, deputy head of the Frankfurt registry office, rejected criticism of the decision.
The Roman duly informed the affected bridal couples about the reasons for their postponed marriage, and the registry office sought to talk to everyone involved.
Like after the SGE's DFB Cup victory four years ago, it could look like next Thursday when the Euro-League title is celebrated.

Also because of the Eintracht game against West Ham: Römer cancels planned weddings
“This decision was not easy for us.
But especially against the background of the events of the semi-final home game against West Ham United, we have come to the conclusion that we cannot guarantee a safe and dignified wedding on that day in the Römer," Keck continued.

If there had been enough Twitter likes, Deutsche Bahn would have provided Eintracht Frankfurt fans with a train to the final.
But now it came out: Because there were not enough thumbs up, there will be no special train to Seville after all.
