Hanau – The death of two children shocks the Hessian city of Hanau.
On Wednesday (May 11), a passer-by found a seriously injured 11-year-old in front of a high-rise building.
The police made the next terrible discovery as soon as they arrived: the boy's 9-year-old sister was lying dead on a balcony on the ninth floor of the high-rise building.
Bloody deed in Hanau: What is known about the crime so far
Both children, 11 and 9 years old, are dead. The police have so far assumed an act of violence.
The boy should first be picked up by a rescue helicopter.
However, since his condition was very critical, he was taken to the hospital in a carefully driven ambulance.
He could not be saved and died after a few hours.
The 11-year-old is believed to have fallen or been pushed from the ninth floor of the skyscraper.
There was a big hole in the net on the balcony.
The 7-year-old sister had already been found dead on the balcony of the apartment.
The autopsy carried out the day before revealed that the girl had died of injuries caused by "sharp force against the neck".
A spokeswoman for the dpa public prosecutor said that the boy died from multiple internal injuries that were due to a fall from a great height.
The reasons for the fall are part of the investigation "which is being conducted on suspicion of murder," said the spokeswoman.
After the death of two children, participants bring flowers, stuffed animals and candles to commemorate.

A good two years ago, a 43-year-old German murdered nine people in Hanau for racist reasons.
The act had sparked nationwide horror.
Hanau: Police are looking for a suspect in the family environment
Neighbors, mayors and all of Hesse are shocked.
The horrible act should be cleared up as soon as possible.
The police and public prosecutor's office have so far provided little information about the ongoing investigations.
In any case, a manhunt is underway, whether it is the father is something that neither the police nor the judiciary have yet to confirm.
The public prosecutor speaks of "a male suspect from the family environment of the children".
According to
Spiegel
, there should be a video showing the suspect running away from the crime scene and getting into a taxi.
What role the mother plays in the whole thing has not yet been clarified.
According to a neighbor, she was at work at the time of the crime.
Hanau: Hessian state parliament mourns - Mayor Kaminsky shaken
The Hessian state parliament silently thought of the two dead children who probably fell victim to an act of violence in Hanau.
The MPs rose from their seats at the start of the session on Thursday in Wiesbaden.
Vice President of the State Parliament Frank Lortz (CDU) spoke of a bad deed, reports the dpa.
Hanau's Lord Mayor Claus Kaminsky (SPD) was also shocked and said to the
