Germering/Gilching - A previously unknown burglar could now be transferred to two crime scenes in the local service area using his DNA traces.
The Germering police were able to solve two damaging burglaries from 2019 and 2021.
"On June 19, 2019,
an apartment on the third floor of an apartment building was broken into in
Germering during the day," explains Police Chief Inspector Roland Nist from PI Germering.
The lock cylinder on the apartment door was turned off, the apartment ransacked and cash and gold jewelery worth
around 500 euros
were stolen.
The perpetrator's DNA traces were found on a jewelry box belonging to the apartment owner.
In
Gilching
, the same man took advantage of the two-hour absence of a homeowner and levered open the patio door on November 27, 2021 to get into the house.
From the basement to the attic, he searched the house for stolen goods.
He stole the woman's valuable and partly unique jewelry and cash worth around 10,000 euros.
His DNA was secured here on the patio door.
A comparison with European databases led to several hits in these DNA traces.
In the Netherlands, in Austria and in Bavaria, the man had already appeared several times for
property crimes
and had also served prison sentences in Austria and Germany.
Still, he wasn't deterred.
“What is remarkable is the fact that he consciously tried to disguise his identity in all countries with countless alias personal data, but DNA never lies.
Unfortunately, the 46-year-old man from the former Yugoslavia is currently of unknown whereabouts,” concludes Nist.
