China reiterated today that sanctions against Russia will not bring peace to Ukraine, but rather will lead to energy, food and financial crises in the whole world.
"Sanctions will not bring peace, but will only exacerbate price increases and trigger food, energy and financial crises around the world," said Dai Bing, deputy Chinese representative to the United Nations, as saying during a meeting of the UN Security Council, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
He noted that China once again urges the parties to exercise rationality and restraint, override prejudices, and make efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine as soon as possible.
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed today that the Western sanctions imposed on Russia are provoking a global economic crisis, stressing that Moscow is dealing successfully with the Western sanctions imposed on it.
