According to the latest incidence value, the corona situation in Germany has eased further.
The crisis team in the Chancellery has been dissolved.
Berlin – The corona incidence in Germany has fallen again.
The Robert Koch Institute reported a reading of 502.4 on Thursday morning.
The day before, the seven-day incidence was 507.1.
Compared to the previous week (566.8), it fell noticeably.
Health authorities reported 88,961 new infections with the corona virus to the RKI within 24 hours.
The number of dead was given as 197.
Even if the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week is still decisive in assessing the corona situation, it provides an incomplete picture of the infection situation.
Corona incidence has fallen slightly - the infection situation is still confusing
Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - due to overworked health authorities and because not all infected people have a PCR test done.
Only these count in the statistics.
In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
The same applies to the death numbers.
For example, on the Monday before last (May 2nd), for the first time since September, no new death was reported as a result of Covid 19 disease.
Corona crisis team in the Chancellery dissolved
Probably also because the situation has largely eased, the corona crisis team introduced around five months ago in the Federal Chancellery to coordinate nationwide vaccinations has been dissolved.
Bavaria had previously lifted the disaster.
In the meantime, there is a completely different situation with infections and vaccinations, said deputy government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann.
The tasks of the crisis team headed by Major General Carsten Breuer would now be processed in the usual working structures of the federal government.
The government's Corona Expert Council, on the other hand, is currently preparing an opinion on the situation in autumn and winter.
