Cyclists hit by cars in Krailling

Krailling - A serious bicycle accident occurs in Krailling.
A pedelec rider is seriously injured in a collision with a car.
According to information from the Gauting police, the accident happened on Wednesday around 4:20 p.m. on Germeringer Straße.
At the time mentioned, a 79-year-old man from Munich was driving his pedelec on a dirt road coming from the west in the direction of Pentenried and wanted to cross Germeringer Straße in order to continue his journey on this dirt road on the east side of Germeringer Straße in the direction of Krailling.
Cyclists overlooked a Gautingerin car
When an uninvolved witness, a 41-year-old man from Unterföhring, coming from the left in the direction of Pentenrieder Straße and driving in the direction of Gauting, drove past the pedelec driver with his Hyundai, he wanted to cross the street.
He missed a 25-year-old Opel driver from Gauting, who was immediately following the witness, so that there was a violent collision between the cyclist and the car.
Cyclists are taken to the Großhadern Clinic
According to the evidence, the cyclist hit his head in the area of the windshield on the passenger side of the Opel and suffered serious head injuries and bruises all over his body, police reports.
The man from Munich, who was not wearing a bicycle helmet, was immediately taken to the Großhadern Clinic for further treatment.
The 25-year-old Opel driver from Gauting was unharmed.
A not inconsiderable property damage of around 4000 euros occurred in the area of the right vehicle front.
Her car was no longer drivable and had to be towed away.
The material damage to the pedelec should amount to around 1,500 euros.
