Sun and high temperatures are forecast for the next few days (but thunderstorm clusters and supercells are also possible).
Heat wave in Bavaria: the situation in cars can “quickly become life-threatening”
That's why the Oberpfalz police warned on Wednesday (May 11): "The temperature in parked vehicles rises quickly, especially in direct sunlight, which can quickly become life-threatening for your loved ones - whether human or animal." The animal protection organization PETA has also already warned , not to leave dogs in the car.

In the press release, the police explain why it would be dangerous for people and animals to be locked in a car in summer temperatures: "In parked vehicles with the windows closed, the temperature can rise to up to 38 - 45 degrees within 10 - 20 minutes .
If you are away for a longer period of time or if the sun is shining brightly, temperatures in the car can even exceed 60 degrees.”
Even if the windows are slightly open, only minimally lower temperatures are reached: "A potentially threatening situation!"

Police officers rescued a dog from an overheated car in Bavaria and brought it to the animal shelter.
They warn: "Something like this can end fatally".
