The children are siblings - a seven-year-old girl and an eleven-year-old boy, said the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office of the German Press Agency.
The autopsy carried out the day before revealed that the girl had died of injuries caused by "sharp force against the neck".
The boy died from multiple internal injuries from a fall from a great height.
The reasons for the fall are part of the investigation "which is being conducted on suspicion of murder," said the spokeswoman.
