Hundreds of anti-war activists demonstrated in the Greek capital Athens today to protest the presence of US military bases in Greece.
Local media reported that the demonstration, organized by the Greek Communist Party, started from the Acropolis temple in Athens, during which protesters raised banners reading "No to war" and "No to the rules of death."
Activists expressed their rejection of the joint defense cooperation agreement between Greece and the United States, which is being put to a vote in Parliament.
Last October, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias signed an agreement to update the joint defense cooperation agreement between the two countries.
