Enormous weapons found during routine forced evictions in Nuremberg – police report arrest

It began with a routine forced eviction by a court enforcement and ended with a massive find of weapons in Nuremberg and an arrest.
NUREMBERG - At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, the Nuremberg East Police Station received a disturbing call: a bailiff reported that she had found a massive arsenal of weapons during the eviction of an apartment.
The apartment owner, a 74-year-old man, was not in the apartment in the Rennweg district of Nuremberg at the time.
Police officers immediately made their way to the location.

Police did find a large number of weapons at the scene.
Among them were suspected weapons of war such as Kalashnikov AK47 assault rifles.
Therefore, the weapons experts of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office together with the Nuremberg/Fürth public prosecutor's office took over further processing.
A manhunt was immediately launched for the homeowner.
Within a short time, the 74-year-old German national was found in the immediate vicinity of the apartment by officers from the Bavarian riot police who had been called to provide assistance.
The suspect was arrested at 7:30 p.m., according to the police press release.

Weapons arsenal secured during forced eviction in Nuremberg apartment
After an initial inspection, the weapons found are semi-automatic and fully automatic assault rifles, long guns, handguns with the associated ammunition, pyrotechnics, crossbows and knives.
The investigation is subject to the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office.
The 74-year-old was brought before the investigating judge at the Nuremberg district court on Wednesday, who issued the arrest warrant requested by the public prosecutor's office in Nuremberg/Fürth, according to the police report.
The suspect was taken to a correctional facility.
According to the police, there are no indications of extremist behavior according to the current state of knowledge.
Rather, the 74-year-old is a gun collector without a permit.
