The President and Prime Minister of Finland signed their will to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The secretary general of the alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, said that the country would be welcome.
For his part, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin, said that the eventual incorporation of Finland into NATO would be a threat to Russia.
