The former Indian ambassador to Damascus, Man Mohan Banut, affirmed that despite terrorism, the siege, and the unjust and unjust unilateral coercive measures, the Syrian state institutions continued to assume their responsibilities towards the citizens and continued to provide them with free educational and medical services.
In a lengthy article published today in the Indian Financial Express newspaper, Banut talked about his three-year stay in Syria during the terrorist war waged against it, pointing out that the Syrian people have the right to be proud of their ancient history and that their country is the cradle of civilizations.
"I found the Syrians as proud of their history as we are, and they are right in their belief that their country is the cradle of civilization," Banout said, referring to the amazing state of life that Syrian society enjoys.
Banout pointed out that Syria keeps large quantities of ancient treasures in its various historical sites.
