While writing this text, I received a message.
"Israel shows Europe that love wins everything," she said, "Just before the grand semi-final, Israel's Eurovision representative Michael Ben-David proposes marriage to his partner Roi."
The truth?
Very exciting, but this is probably the most significant moment that will come out of Eurovision 2022 for the Israeli representative in the competition.
As you may have understood, this column was written at a time when it is still unknown whether Ben-David reached the final or not.
If he went up against all odds and bets - aspire.
If not, not terrible.
There was no expectation of a trophy anyway, and that's not the point either.
History proves that the Eurovision Song Contest can provide very few singers with a start to an international career, but it can be a source of frustration and trauma for many years to come.
Many representatives of the past will testify to this, that one day they appeared on the biggest stage in the world and the next day they disappeared.
This should not be Michael's story.
Michael managed to stand out already in the first audition in "The X Factor".
He continued with a host of performances throughout the season, until in the final he was declared the winner and sent to represent us in Italy.
The talent is great, the song less, but that's what it's.
Immediately after winning the program, he was signed by Yoav Gross and Oron Halfon - two who have beautiful careers for Margie, Static and Ben-El, Lake Bohbot and more.
In my opinion, Michael is not "another representative" at the Eurovision Song Contest, because he is exactly what is missing in local music and Israeli pop.
Michael is an excellent singer, an excellent dancer and a tremendous performer.
He is maskless, brave, versatile.
He can sing a ballad and thrill or lift everyone to their feet in Beyoncé's cover, always maintain a high level of professionalism and never come out pathetic.
No matter where he is ranked in the Eurovision Song Contest - even if he finishes last, you can be sure that he will find a way to get out of it well.
Michael's real challenge will begin as soon as he lands in the country.
Whatever the outcome, Michael is not going to stop.
The day before he boarded the plane to Italy, he had already secretly shot a clip for a new ballad, and with the right and original professional choices that match his size and style, along with perseverance, he can become Israel's big and disturbed pop star.
