In the video: Mansour Abbas in the Knesset: Give another opportunity to the government (corporation here)

Mansour Abbas is the Anwar Sadat of our time.

Sadat surprised the whole world (especially Israel), jumped into the stormiest water and did so against all expectations.

He stopped the war, brought peace (which has withstood all the upheavals for 43 years) and paid for it with his life.

Abbas is doing a more complicated act.

He is not a totalitarian ruler who heads a state, he is a politician who barely heads a small party.

One should pray that his move will be at least as successful as Sadat's move, but not at the same price.

The historic move he is leading is no less important than Sadat's peace.

It's bigger than budgets, jobs or promises.

A process of mutual reconciliation between Jews and Arabs, of people living together and understanding that it is time to start working together as well.

The Arabs enter the tent, change the rules of the game and begin to participate in the political game.

It is not only their interest, but it is also our interest.

Abbas is a tragic hero.

Close your eyes and try to imagine what our life here would look like today, if Abbas had formed the government with the Likud and Netanyahu, and not with Bennett and Lapid.

Reminder: This is what he wanted.

Abbas flirted with the Likud, not with the center-left.

He cooperated with them, he cast ballots with them, he passed decisions with them, he was appointed chairman of a committee by the Likud, and he explicitly said he preferred an alliance with the right. He also explained why: when you sign with the right, the chances are There's no one who will incite against it from the outside.

Abbas had an affair with Netanyahu, who disguised himself as a Latin suitor, changed his name to Abu Yair, offered him mountains and hills, and invited him four times to Balfour.

Had it been successful and Smutrich would not have torpedoed it, we would now be in heaven.

Instead of the insane wave of incitement, laden with fabrications, hallucinations, lies and threats, we would run on who rests and let the government run the country quietly.

No one would scream that Netanyahu sold the Temple Mount to Muslims, as Netanyahu screamed shamelessly yesterday.

The kosher was automatic, as is customary in right-wing democracy.

The shofars would line up in threes to the right of Abbas, and next to Taha and Mazen Ghanaim and revel in Minchat.

What a beauty, what a coexistence: for the first time, Arabs and Jews reach out to each other, get to know each other, demonstrate the common hope of living together in this country, and all this without compromising security!

After all, "Mr. Security" in his own right manages things.

This is what could have happened if Netanyahu's big plan, which began with those articles by Natan Eshel and continued with long, largely secretive negotiations with the Islamic Movement, had come true. Netanyahu lacked two or three seats to make this historic move. That he did not win them.We would have spared the incitement, the screams, the plots and the slander, all this crazy cacophony, which has been abandoned here around the existence of RAAM in the coalition in favor of a move whose importance to the common future of us all here is unparalleled.

One has to pray that his move will succeed.

It could be that Abbas' move will eventually fail.

There is a good chance this will happen.

The tragedy will be ours all.

The current government treats security with a high hand and also rapidly improves the security situation within the Arab sector (a steep decline in all violent parameters).

The understanding of many Israelis in Israel that it is time to abandon the separatist agenda and the problems of the neighbors and focus on what is happening to them within Israel - is an event of paramount importance, and the man who set out on this dangerous path is one of the bravest and most inspiring politicians seen here recently.

We should pray for his success, because it is our success.

The Arabs will not disappear from this country one morning, nor do we have any intention of going anywhere.

Until recently they were not interested in participating in the game.

They sat outside the tent and looked inside with hatred mixed with contempt.

Now they are groping their way inside.

How unfortunate that Netanyahu was prevented from being the one to open the door for them, because no one could now defile and incite against this more important move.
