Barbara Pompili, reformist ecologist and former EELV member, will run for the 2nd constituency of the Somme, where she was elected in 2012 and 2017. Elisabeth Moreno is invested in the 9th constituency of French people living abroad (Maghreb and a large part of West Africa), until now held by ex-LREM deputy M'jid El Guerrab.

The latter was sentenced Thursday in Paris to one year in prison and two years of ineligibility for the attack on former socialist leader Boris Faure in 2017. A decision he will appeal, according to his lawyer.

The execution of this judgment is suspended while the case is examined on appeal.

548 constituencies provided

The presidential camp also invested a candidate, Isabelle Seguin, in the 4th constituency of Ain, whose outgoing LREM deputy Stéphane Trompille was convicted of sexual harassment.

The list of nominations released Thursday includes a total of five constituencies, which are added to the 548 already filled by the presidential majority, out of the 577 in the running.
