Stuttgart Airport has limited the length of stay in front of the terminals and asks parkers who stand there for more than eight minutes to pay properly.

Traffic was restricted because the cars kept staying for a long time in the priority area on the departures level at Terminals 1 and 3.
To counteract this, the airport company (FSG) introduced the so-called “kiss and fly” zone and limited the length of stay.
The new rule was introduced four months ago, but it is still causing debate.
Since the beginning of the year there has been a barrier at the entrance and exit of the terminal driveway at Stuttgart Airport.
When entering the area, a device captures the license plate number of the car and measures the time.
You can park for eight minutes free of charge in front of the terminals.
If the time is exceeded, the price increases: Eight to ten minutes then cost five euros, ten to 15 minutes ten euros, the FSG requires 20 euros for 15 to 20 minutes, 30 euros for up to 30 minutes and 90 euros for more than 30 minutes.

There has already been a fair amount of criticism for these awards, including from Boris Palmer.
"There are people who say it's too expensive if you have to pay 10 euros a month for a resident's parking permit," wrote the mayor of Tübingen on Facebook, describing it as "kiss and pay."
"Rip-off is the right word," commented another user on the scheme.
“Somehow the airports have to be in the black again,” one user assumed as the reason.
However, many users cannot understand Palmer's comparison because it deals with two different areas.
The airport company in Stuttgart will stick to the regulation despite criticism because it fulfills its purpose.
Eight minutes are sufficient for drivers.
There are also no more traffic jams as before and long-term parkers.
In addition, rescue vehicles would now get through better.
Technical problems and missing information cause trouble at the airport in Stuttgart
However, the system at Stuttgart Airport does not always work smoothly.
