Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, affirmed his country's categorical rejection of accusations against its forces of targeting children during its military operation in Ukraine.

During a session of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, Nebenzia described the accusations against Russian forces of violence against children in Ukraine as “ridiculous,” noting that the Ukrainian President’s Commissioner for Children, Daria Gerasimchuk, recently admitted in an interview with the Belarusian “Belsat” channel that the Ukrainian Public Prosecution has no Information confirming any case of violence against children at the hands of Russian military personnel in the country.

Nebenzia pointed out that the Kyiv regime is waging a war against its people and targeting Donbass children and their schools, pointing out that the extremist Azov Brigade has killed civilians, including children, in front of journalists.

Nebenzia pointed out that the occupation of schools and kindergartens by Ukrainian forces has become a rule, not an exception, stressing that Russia is making efforts to ensure the security of children and refuses to use schools for military purposes.

Nebenzia indicated that the killing of more than 100 children in Donbass since the beginning of the conflict has been documented, and 200 cases of targeting educational facilities, half of which are schools and kindergartens, in the Luhansk People's Republic alone. .

Nebenzia pointed out that there are testimonies about the crimes of the Azov Brigade that Moscow is documenting, and camps for children in Ukraine that are working to turn them into fighters, as extremist nationalists recruit children between the ages of 7 and 18 and teach them to hate Russia, pointing out that one of these sites is the “Beligrem” orphanage.
