Energy saving and sustainability in everyday life are a huge trend, not least in view of the energy price explosion.

The Otterfingen Climate Day provides all information on these topics.

Otterfing - Everyone can make their contribution: Homeowners, tenants, farmers, tourists, cooks and communities have it in their own hands to push the climate change - and at the same time even save money and discover new pleasures.

The big Otterfingen Climate Day on Sunday, May 15th, organized by the Otterfing Citizens' Forum as part of the "Climate Spring Oberland", aims to illuminate the topic from different perspectives.

Visitors should take the latest developments from lectures and information stands with them - and maybe even take part in a collective order for mini solar systems.

"This is developing into a huge trend," says Citizens' Forum spokesman Michael Seewald.

The program is rich.

From 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., information stands on the topics of sun and wind, climate-friendly heat, sustainable mobility and saving energy will be presented at the Archehof Schlickenrieder with catering.

As Cornelia Seitz from the Citizens' Forum emphasizes, all working groups are working together for the first time on Climate Day.

Even the AK Art/Culture provides impulses.

Eight climate change lectures (see box), which are very broad, lure them into this.

"At the request of the agricultural sector, we invited Karl Bär, a member of the Bundestag," says Manfried Doll, co-organizer of the Citizens' Forum.

As Greens chairman in the Bundestag Committee for Food and Agriculture, Holzkirchner will explain what the traffic light coalition expects of agriculture in terms of compliance with the climate goals - and how they want to achieve them.

Mayor Michael Falkenhahn uses the opportunity to present the wind energy project to the public for the first time and to discuss it with the citizens.

His colleague Josef Bierschneider from Kreuth reports why the "mountain climber's village" relies on sustainable tourism.

Anyone interested in sophisticated technology can have the young engineers from the Munich start-up Kitekraft show them how wind energy can be captured by a type of kite.

The AK Environment & Energy sets up a photovoltaic citizens' project.

The manufacturer Sunset from northern Bavaria is presenting a plug-in solar system.

These modules are comparatively easy to install - on the roof, balcony, patio, garden or even facade.

According to Seewald, there are no local design statutes in Otterfing that exclude such mini solar systems.

The AK had already announced a first collective order in April.

However, only four buyers who ordered eight modules came forward.

"Many are interested," Seewald knows, "but most want to see the modules for themselves first and talk to representatives of the company."

A second round of collective orders is planned.

Recently the prices have increased, instead of 650 euros, 750 euros should be due in the second round.

The modules are 1.50 by one meter in size, 35 millimeters thick and weigh 16 kilos.

Visitors to the Climate Day can find out how they help to save electricity costs on site - and if they are interested, they can put their names on the order list at the Citizens' Forum.

It is not possible to feed the energy from the mini systems into the grid and receive payment for it.

"Let's see how the demand is," says Seewald, "the more you order, the more discounts you get."
