According to a preliminary investigation conducted last night in the IDF, all the fighters in the Duvdevan unit claimed that they did not fire at Abu Akala or identify her during IDF operations in Jenin.
The investigation also shows that the journalist who was killed in an exchange of gunfire in the city's refugee camp apparently stood in the area from which armed Palestinians fired at the forces.
The initial investigation revealed that IDF forces fired accurately at the gunmen in Jenin, detailing the number of bullets fired by the soldiers and their location on the ground. Weapons that were in "automatic" mode.
At this point, the IDF does not rule out the claim that the fighters accidentally hit a journalist - whether the bullet that killed her in a wall room or a bullet that aimed and hit a terrorist continued on a ballistic trajectory towards her.
